We made it too easy for them to get opener

I THOUGHT the players performed well in the first half of the match.

I think we had the best chances and you have got to score against the big teams.

I said to the players at half-time that the first five minutes of the second half were going to be vital.

I told them not to give anything cheaply – but within the first 30 seconds we had lost a goal.

It was a world-class finish from Pedro Mendes but it was too easy for them to work it through to him.

We had a great effort when Andy Barrowman hit a super strike and it was a great save from Allan McGregor but Rangers then went straight up the park and made it 2-0.

As soon as we lost the second goal the confidence drained from the players.

When you are ahead in games you are alive, you are on your toes, but when you are two goals down you are on your heels and that is when good teams really punish you.

The supporters were superb but they can only shout about what they see on the park and for 45 minutes I thought the team were superb.

We know we need to score goals at key times, as it gives everyone a lift, but we could not give ourselves that extra edge.
