A new year and a fitter you

Published: 24/01/2009

PHYSIOLOGICAL footwear pioneer MBT and John Lewis department stores have teamed up to create a specialist event, enabling you to take the first step towards walking your way to fitness.

MBT experts will visit John Lewis on January 29, providing individual posture and gait assessments and practical advice.

MBTs (Masai Barefoot Technology) are one of the most effective body trainers for a superb all-round exercise, helping to achieve a healthier you. They transforms urban surfaces into natural, uneven ground, making every step a mini-workout.

Walking on MBTs’ curved sole construction means your muscles are constantly sensing and responding to the changes underfoot, activating your core postural muscles. Even if you are just waiting for the bus or walking to work, you are constantly exercising.

Each MBT introductory session will last about 15 minutes, during which your walking technique and daily physical activity will be assessed, introducing you to ways to achieve a more toned and confident you. Conveniently taking place during regular opening hours, the experts will be found at the sports department of John Lewis, Aberdeen, at the designated MBT area.

Everybody who receives a fitting will automatically enter a competition to win a Healthy Body Pack, consisting of a pair of MBTs; Stronger & Fitter for Life – a fitness guide by Graeme March (the UK’s leading strength and conditioning expert and fitness writer); a pair of dumbbells, a stylish anti-shoe T-shirt, and a Swiss ball.
