New stand target for ambitious Lossie
club determined not to go into debt

LOSSIEMOUTH’S 60-year-old grandstand will be demolished at the end of the season.
The Coasters are hoping to raise the bulk of the £45,000 needed to upgrade the ground from a variety of fund-raising events, including a derby against old rivals Elgin City, seats for life and a dinner.
Lossie secretary Alan McIntosh said: “Some time next season, hopefully before Christmas, we will have the new stand in place at Grant Park.
“The old grandstand will come down at the end of this season, and we are hoping the last ever game with it in place will be a fund-raising derby against our old rivals Elgin City.
“We are also planning on selling 100 seats to anyone wishing to purchase one at a cost of £100, which would give them their seat for the rest of their lives.
“We have a loyal band of helpers who have already promised to help us clear the site and put down the concrete base in preparation for our new stand, but we’re not going to get ourselves into debt, so we won’t be buying the new stand until we have the finances in place to pay for it.”
McIntosh hopes business in the region will come to their aid and said: “We have been in conversation with a company with a view to hopefully helping us out in some way – but these discussions are still in the early stages.
“Until the new stand goes up we will work away with our existing enclosure, but when it does come, the new stand will arrive at the ground fully assembled, all we will need to do is secure it to the concrete base, so, hopefully, it won’t be too long until we can all celebrate this latest improvement to the ground.”
Former Deveronvale and Huntly midfielder Ross McWilliam has been transferred from Inverurie Locos to Aberdeen junior club Banks o’ Dee.
Buckie Thistle have placed former Aberdeen midfielder Brian Neill on the transfer list.
