Woman who sets goals aims for the heights herself

A HIGHLAND businesswoman who normally helps others achieve their goals has set herself a challenge to scale new heights.
Jo Adams, from Invermoriston, is preparing to trek to the base camp of Mount Everest in May as part of a fundraising initiative for Show Racism the Red Card – a charity that works with high-profile footballers to educate against racism.
When she is not trekking in Nepal, Mrs Adams, 47, runs Jo Adams Coaching, a company which specialises in coaching individuals and teams in organisations.
She said yesterday :“I really support the charity. I think it’s a great in terms of using sport to educate young people about the issues of racism.
“The second reason I am doing this is because I set myself new challenges and new goals to reach each year. Professionally I work with people or teams to help them achieve goals they have identified. Taking part in this charity initiative is a personal challenge for me, but I feel taking time out to participate will be a rewarding experience as well as supporting a great cause.
“Doing things which we wouldn’t normally consider or that at first appear daunting can often lead to great results in our personal and professional lives. Assessing your own skills and identifying areas which need further training – particularly in the current economic climate – can be of great benefit.”
Mrs Adams, of Smithy Cottage, added that she was well on her way to meeting her £3,000 fundraising target.
