Council urged to think again in row over shinty pitch
Highland Council was under mounting pressure last night to reverse a ruling which allows the only designated shinty pitch in Inverness to be used for football.
Council officers are believed to have given permission for the shinty pitch at Bught Park to be used by Inverness City Football Club.
Inverness Shinty Club president George Campbell said he found out about the decision when an attempt was made to book the sports ground for matches in September, only for the club to be told a reservation had already been made for football.
