Caley Thistle target two

CALEY Thistle aim to bring in at least two new players before the start of pre-season training next Monday.

Inverness have made just one summer signing, 18-year-old midfielder Lee Cox from Leicester City, ahead of the new season.

Veteran Roy McBain has extended his stay at the Caledonian Stadium with a new one-year deal with the Highland club.

Utility player David Proctor and left back Lionel Djebi-Zadi are both expected to follow McBain in committing their future to Caley Jags.

The club is still in negotiations with forward Eric Odhiambo, but Brian Kerr is expected to reject a contract offer from Caley Thistle to sign for First Division rivals Dundee.

Manager Terry Butcher will return to Inverness after attending the European under-21 championships in Sweden, where he was studying for his Uefa coaching badge.

Butcher’s assistant Maurice Malpas was confident they would be able to further augment the squad before the start of next week.

Malpas said: “I would like a couple of new recruits by then and we have offered contracts to two or three players and are waiting to hear back from them.”
