dundee manager reveals the possibility of further signings as fee is agreed for midfielder harkins

Scott has more new faces in mind to come to Dens Park

Dundee manager Jocky Scott has targeted another three summer arrivals, and joked he may even need to build an extension to the Dens Park dressing-room to cope with the influx of new players.

Partick Thistle's Gary Harkins will become a Dark Blues player within the next 24 hours after the clubs yesterday agreed a £150,000 fee to bring him to Tayside and the ambitious First Division club also want to sign James Wesolowski – who was on loan with Dundee United last season – from Championship club Leicester City.

Harkins, a 24-year-old midfielder will sign today and take the number of new faces to nine.

Scott said: “I'm looking to bring in another two players in addition to Gary Harkins.

“At this stage it's just a possibility, but I've certainly got two players in mind.

“It's important to have strength in depth and getting new players in will certainly help that.

“In fact, we might need to build an extension to the dressing-room because I don't think there's enough pegs for them all.”

New Falkirk defender Brian McLean insists he had no hesitation in becoming Eddie May’s first summer signing after agreeing a two-year contract with the club.

McLean joins the Bairns from Motherwell following four years at Fir Park and is looking forward to help usher in a new era at Westfield under May.

The 24-year-old’s arrival has bolstered Falkirk’s options in defence following Steven Pressley’s decision to retire, Dean Holden’s release and Gerard Aafjes’s return to Holland. McLean said: “The facilities at the club are a big factor and the management is even bigger.”
