Scots excel in Nottingham

SCOTTISH crews had an excellent weekend at the National rowing cham- pionships of Great Britain in Nottingham, bringing a haul of 21 medals north – five golds, seven silvers and nine bronzes.
Glasgow Rowing Club took two of the golds, in lightweight pairs and fours, while Clyde's Imogen Walsh added the British crown to her Scottish lightweight single sculls title.
The other two golds were won by the Aberdeen Schools Rowing Association, in women's junior coxed fours and under-14 double sculls.
Among the silvers was Scottish champion Jim Murphy from Clyde in the men's single sculls.
Aberdeen University's Stephanie McDowell took bronze in under-23 singles, while Inverness joined the medal party with a bronze in women's under-14 quad sculls, in a composite with Castle Semple.
