Portsoy area’s heritage to come alive at bothy
Second part of photography exhibition set to stir reminiscences

THE second part of a photographic project to recall bygone days in part of the north-east will get under way tomorrow.
People and places in the Portsoy area will be in focus for an exhibition at the new Salmon Bothy venue.
The first part of the display was held during the May Day weekend and attracted a large number of visitors.
Bothy manager Leanne Wilson said: “Some of the old photographs shown then will be on display again but there will also be others not seen before. A lot of the photographs show people in the past and visitors point out people they knew and start reminiscing.”
The photographs on show were supplied by local people following an appeal by the local Scottish Traditional Boat Festival group, which runs the bothy.
The originals were copied and returned to their owners so the collection can remain at the venue.
At the May exhibition, the photograph display was timed to coincide with sessions on family history research. The new exhibition will be unveiled tomorrow and will be open daily, except Tuesday, July 28, from 2-4pm until Sunday, August 2.
