Hunt under way for next Spielberg of the north-east
Workshops offered for budding photographers and filmmakers at portsoy

BUDDING photographers and filmmakers will have an opportunity to develop their skills at workshops at Portsoy.
Summer sessions have been organised at the Salmon Bothy venue to cover both technical and creative aspects of the disciplines.
Cinematographer Johnny Burnett, of Schoolhendry Street, Portsoy, will tutor the workshops next month.
Bothy manager Leanne Wilson said: “The digital photography sessions will cover how to make pro- fessional-looking photo-graphs.
“They will include a short walk round Portsoy to take pictures at the harbour and coastline.”
The digital filmmaking course will look at production methods for low-budget films and documentaries.
Miss Wilson said: “The sessions will provide practical demonstrations and technical exercises.”
Photographers should bring their own digital cameras while Mr Burnett will supply equipment on the filmmaking course.
The photography course is on Tuesday, August 4, and Thursday, August 6, from 6.30pm to 9.30pm while the filmmaking workshops are on Tuesday, August 11, and Wednesday, August 12, at the same times.
The photography workshop will cost £15 and the filmmaking session £20 and places must be booked at the bothy on 01261 842951.
