A festival-loving couple tied the knot in front of 100 family and friends at the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival yesterday.
David Knox, 43, and Aileen Forest, 41, met at the festival near Beauly two years ago.
After considering several locations for their wedding, the couple, of Duck Row, Jedburgh, in the Borders, decided to get married in the chapel on the Belladrum Estate.
The wedding party enjoyed a reception in a private marquee before joining the thousands of revellers at the two-day festival.
Speaking before the wedding, Mr Knox, a journalist, said: “We have both been married before and so we weren’t sure what to do.
“We both love festivals and between us both we have probably been to most festivals around the UK.
“We’ve got about 100 guests coming, including older relatives in their 60s and 70s. They were a bit wary at first but the more they found out about it the more they came to love the idea.
“It’s not a T in the Park – it’s a much more family-friendly festival.”
The couple’s love of festivals also involves their pets. Their dog is called Lou after the Loopallu festival at Ullapool and they used to have a cat called Bella, named after Belladrum.
Last night, as Belladrum 2009 got well under way and the crowd got ready for headlining act Editors, police reported there had been no disorder or serious incidents of any kind.
A spokesman said the atmosphere of the crowd was very positive and the event appeared to be living up to its reputation as a friendly festival.
Chief Inspector Jim Neil, the event commander, said: “The mood of the crowd can only be described as good-humoured. There have been no arrests and no reports of disorder.
“Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves.
“We hope that people continue to adopt a sensible attitude and that the vibe continues throughout the festival. We would remind people to stay safe to enjoy the festival and don’t overindulge in alcohol.”
