Search at Foyers to resume for teenager
Youth jumped into river at beauty spot

A SEARCH will resume this morning for a young man who went missing after jumping into a river at a Highland beauty spot.
The man, believed to be a 17-year-old local, was reported missing at 4.55pm near Falls of Foyers on Loch Ness-side.
His father was at the scene as police, firefighters and coastguards carried out a search of the River Foyers.
It was called off around 8.30pm because of lack of light. Coastguard teams from other areas are expected to be brought in to resume it at 8am.
It is understood he was with two friends and may have been jumping off rocks into pools in the river.
Police were remaining at the scene overnight and a barrier was put up across the river in case the man was washed downstream.
A Sea King helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth also flew over last night, with police sniffer dogs and Loch Ness lifeboat searching the area.
Martin Douglas, of Loch Ness RNLI, said: “We don’t know if the man slipped and fell or jumped. At the highest point, it is 165ft, although it could have been from the lower viewing point.
“The person entered the water at the bottom of the falls at the River Foyers, which flows into Loch Ness about half a mile down.
“It is a hell of a drop into the gully.”
