WORK-LIFE balance is now recognised as a key factor in attracting and retaining highly productive employees.

Four out of five employees state that work-life balance considerations play a crucial role in deciding whether to stay with or leave their current employer, while 49% of employers have seen an increase in productivity following the implementation of work-life balance options.

Lauren Webster, director at Aberdeen Appointments Agency, recently discovered an innovative corporate benefit which employers could offer to ensure greater staff retention and long-term employee wellbeing.

“I was privileged to have attended the first LadyLeader Retreat in Aberdeen,” she said.

“The whole experience provided a genuine escape and rejuvenation from the hectic insanity of everyday life and its consequent pressures.”

LadyLeader Retreats, organised by Martha Simpson, of Martha Simpson Coaching, in association with Jo Adams Coaching, provide a special two-day experience that combines coaching, relaxation and professional development.

Lauren added: “In today’s lifestyle, we are constantly battling against the stresses of many challenges and strive for perfection across all facets of our family/work lifestyle. The retreat allowed me the unique opportunity to re-evaluate my life patterns, ensuring a new focus for optimal success without the negative consequences.

“The whole concept of the retreat provides a significant opportunity for employers in the local area to offer an innovative corporate benefit to encourage staff development and retention.”

Martha Simpson said: “Jo and I are both qualified coaches with significant executive-level experience. We understand the drive and commitment required to make it at the top and, at the same time, realise how tough Lady Leadership can be. We wanted to extend the services we offer and established the retreats as a unique, luxurious and personally tailored opportunity for women to take time out and focus on both personal and professional development in a relaxing and nurturing environment.”

LadyLeader Retreats are held over two days in exclusive Scottish hotels with spas where you can enjoy the ambience and relaxation while receiving two professional coaching sessions personalised to your needs and development.

Individual retreats, which are restricted to a maximum of 12 guests, range from £325, or for less than £100 per month you can attend three LadyLeader Retreats per year. The next scheduled retreat dates with availability are November 12-13 at Ardoe House Hotel and Spa, Aberdeen.
