Jimmy Gow will quit as manager of Premier Division champions Kingussie after they play host to leaders Newtonmore in a probable title shootout on November 7.
Kingussie crackshot Russell Dallas, meanwhile, is set to emigrate to Canada and could jet out before the Newtonmore clash.
Gow said yesterday: “I've been in charge since 1998, apart from a two-year spell out. When I returned, I told the club I'd do it for only two more years because of work and it's turned out to be four years.
“I now have my own garage and can't guarantee to be at every training session, so it's time to step down. There’s no harm in change and someone coming in with fresh ideas."
The popular Gow won six Camanachd Cups as a player and five more as a manager and has bossed The Dell men to eight Premier titles. Club chiefs have begun sounding out prospective replacements with Gow's former team mate Steve Borthwick, now involved with the second team, as a key name in the frame.
Steve's daughter is the girl friend of Russell Dallas and she has secured a plum job in Canada and has already flown out there. Russell is awaiting a visa and plans to join her as soon as the document arrives, which could be before the end of the season.
Kingussie have six games to play and are five points behind Newtonmore, who have four games to go.
Kingussie have problems for tomorrow's home game with Bute, with Gary Munro working, John Gibson injured and James Hutchinson and Andrew Borthwick suspended. Bute are in the second relegation spot, level on points with Inveraray but with two games fewer played, so the islanders would love to take something from The Dell.
Inveraray are also seeking an upset at Newtonmore, who they have still to play twice, and this could be a tight encounter as More bid to extend their unbeaten Premier record to 15 games.
Lochaber, two points ahead of the Argyll pair, are not out of the relegation woods yet but manager Ally Ferguson knows that a win against gallant Camanachd Cup runners up Kyles Athletic at Spean Bridge could be vital.
Fresh from winning the cup in Oban, Fort William return to Mossfield Park knowing a win will lift them to third place while a defeat will see Oban Camanachd leapfrog them to fourth spot. Oban won at Fort William last month.
Six points from four games will guarantee Lovat a Premier place next season as North First Division champions but Ray Rennie and his mates know they have to stand up to the pressure of a nailbiting run-in, starting with a home game with improving Inverness.
Leaders Skye, with only one game remaining, are idle so Kilmallie can go top if they beat Lochcarron, still without a single point, at Canal Park. Beauly visit Kinlochshiel in the other fixture.
