A NORTH-EAST band is preparing to embark on a month-long tour which will see them showcase their talents overseas.
Indian Red Lopez, a five-piece group from Peterhead, will begin their tour on Sunday at the Greenside, Glenrothes, and are getting ready to make their mark in the Netherlands and France, as well as Glasgow, Edinburgh and London.
The tour, which is to promote the band’s debut self-published EP release Castles Incomplete, will see them perform at the prestigious Velvet records in Rotterdam, the largest independent record store in the Netherlands, and at Le Select in Lille, France.
Led by the vocals of Michael Chang, the group’s sound has been compared to Joy Division and Radiohead.
Joining Chang is an all-Buchan line-up of David Cherry and Danny Forsyth on guitar, Darren Forsyth playing bass guitar and Scott Maskame on drums.
The band, who have been together in their current incarnation since November 2008, are looking forward to stepping on stage overseas.
Cherry, 25, of Windmill Court, said: “We are really excited. We have toured before but we were all in separate vehicles. This time we will all be together in our own tour bus, which is pretty cool. We can’t wait to get started.”
Indian Red Lopez will finish their tour on October 22 at Snafu, in Aberdeen’s Union Street.
