PARENTS in Aberdeen will get the chance to broadcast their opinions on a city university this weekend in a special podcast.

As dozens of potential students are expected to attend Robert Gordon University’s open day on Saturday, the institute will host a podcast workshop for parents to keep them entertained while the prospective students learn about courses.

Parents will be invited into an X Factor-style booth where they will be filmed talking about themselves and what they think of the university.

They will then be guided on how to turn the footage into a podcast before it is broadcast on the university’s website using its podcast server.

RGU marketing manager Kate Blake said: “The Podcasting for Parents workshop should be particularly interesting, taking place in a newly refurbished suite in St Andrew Street, and illustrates our commitment to ensuring prospective students and their guests enjoy their time at RGU.”

The open day will be held from 11am to 2pm at the Garthdee and St Andrew Street campuses.

Free buses will run between the city centre and Garthdee every 15 minutes. For more information, call 01224 262204 or visit the website at www.rgu.ac.uk/openday
