A FINDHORN musician who left the spiritual shore to study in London celebrates her comeback tonight by performing her second album, Beside the Waves of Time.

Harp player and Celtic singer-songwriter Iona Leigh will play at the Universal Hall, Findhorn, with Irish singer songwriter J. Eoin, who is to launch an album, Acrobat. They will be joined by Scottish fiddler and BBC Radio Young Folk Award winner Lauren MacColl.

Australian-born Ms Leigh, 26, who lives at Cullerne House, Findhorn, was raised in the village, where she developed her musical style. She said mystical legends and poems of Scotland influenced her songs and she is looking forward to writing more albums in the area.

“I absolutely love the land and it inspires most of my music,” she said. “It’s a great place to write and it’s really good to be based here.”

Tonight’s performance will start at 8pm. Tickets are £9 and £7 for concessions and are available on the door. Tickets can also be booked at the Phoenix Community Stores on 01309 690110 or online at www. thebooth.co.uk
