KNOCK Castle Hotel and Spa has opened one of Scotland’s first panoramic rooftop restaurants, following a VIP launch in December.
The exclusive restaurant, with stunning views of Perthshire and beyond, is complete with an outside terrace, open-plan kitchen and a lounge area.
Set in the beautiful hills of the Strathearn valley and only an hour's drive from Scotland's major cities, Knock Castle Hotel and Spa offers an oasis of tranquility. The hotel boasts 30 luxury bedrooms, including suites and deluxe castle rooms as well as a separate self-contained lodge within the grounds of the castle.
The restaurant will be fine dining only and very exclusive to the castle. They will offer diners an a la carte menu for lunch and dinner with a choice of six starters, mains and desserts to choose from. There will also be afternoon tea and homemade baking served each day.
The new menu has been specially created by chef and owner Jason Henderson. The style of cookery is Scottish contemporary with heavy influence on using only the best Scottish produce and organic where possible. The exquisite cuisine is complemented by an extensive wine list, including a number of rare wines. Jason has over 15 years of experience working in several prominent UK and overseas culinary establishments and will head up the rooftop restaurant with his sous chef Sergio Boyle.
Since the Henderson Group bought the property in December 2007 for over £2million they have undertaken a £1.5million refurbishment to the property. As well as the new rooftop restaurant, its facilities now include a modern gymnasium, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, 12 treatment rooms, restaurant, private dining facilities and a cinema.
Bookings are now being taken for the rooftop restaurant, where a collared dress code applies.
