Massive liner must weather the recession

She can carry the entire population of Banchory on Royal Deeside and features an open-air park the size of a football field. The world’s biggest cruise liner, the Oasis of the Seas, was unveiled yesterday during a star-studded launch, live on American TV. The liner, which is 400 yards long and can carry almost 6,300 passengers, is 40% bigger than any other cruise ship. She boasts 16 decks, 254 rooms, 24 restaurants and a bar that moves up and down between floors. After paying out £800million, owners Royal Caribbean had better hope that the recession really is over.
