Christmas treat for mothers-in-law

THE late comedian Les Dawson would have had a field day with the hotel chain offering 25% discount for mothers-in-law during the Christmas period. Dawson, who based his whole act on his apparent loathing of his mother-in-law, would undoubtedly have been first in the queue for the Holiday Inn offer, which applies to 194 hotels between December 23 and 29.

Those who, unlike the comedian, actually do dislike their mother-in-law will be just a little disappointed that the offer applies only to the UK.
