A KEEN academic graduated from Aberdeen University for the third time.
Karen Keenan, who juggled studying for her PhD in public health with having her daughter, collected her new qualification yesterday.
Mrs Keenan, 34, of Bon Accord Street, Aberdeen, graduated with an MA in psychology in 1997 and an MLitt in sociology in 2002.
She said her husband Jack, 30, who is a lecturer in communications at Robert Gordon University, helped her cope with the work- load.
She said: “I have a very supportive family to help me and a husband who believed I could do it.
“My research project examined how hereditary diseases affect families and I want to continue this work.
“There are young people across the world affected by this who don't have any support.”
Mrs Keenan, who gave birth to daughter Emily in July last year, now works as a youth services manager with the Scottish Huntington's Association, which supports families affected by the hereditary disease.
