Aberdeen’s Greig Hutcheon will today make his eighth appearance in the European Tour's qualifying school final at the PGA Golf de Catalunya, near Girona, in Spain.
The 36-year-old Hutcheon – a three-time – winner on the second-tier Challenge Tour, came through a five-man play-off in stage two earlier this week to secure his place in the six-round final and give himself another chance of landing one of 30 tour cards up for grabs.
Hutcheon, whose best finish of the season was a share of fourth in July's Wales Challenge, is one of 12 Scots involved in a 156-strong field and will be joined by former Ryder Cup player Andrew Coltart, past PGA champions Scott Drummond and Andrew Oldcorn and Press and Journal columnist Stephen Gallacher.
Tulliallan’s Callum Macaulay also competes and has hired the services of Alastair Forsyth’s former caddie to help him plot a route back to the European circuit.
Former Scottish Amateur champions Steven O'Hara, George Murray and Andrew McArthur also line up along with Eric Ramsay, Alan McLean and Peterhead-born Jamie McLeary.
Meanwhile, Comrie's Carly Booth, 17, is one of four Scots entered for Stage 1 of the Ladies European Tour qualifying school at La Manga, Spain, from December 14 to 16.
The other Scots girls seeking playing rights for the 2010 LET season are Katy McNicoll (Carnoustie) and Glasgow's Gemma Webster, both professionals, and amateur Kylie Walker (Buchanan Castle).
Walker is also a 2010 Curtis Cup squad member.
The leading 50 players and ties after Stage 1's three-round eliminator will go forward to join exempt players at the final qualifying school, also at La Manga, over four rounds from December 18 to 21.
