Winter fun at activity park

AN OUTDOOR activities venue in Aberdeenshire has a busy programme of events over the winter period, kicking off on Sunday with a 4x4 off-road driving open day.
For the sixth year in a row, Deeside Activity Park is inviting guests to take their own 4x4 vehicles round its exciting off-road course. This has become a popular annual event, with last year’s participants totalling more than 50. The variety of off-road vehicles seen on the course included new shiny Range Rovers, VW Touregs and BMW X5s, through to well used Suzuki SJ 410s and Series 2 Land Rovers.
“This is one of the most popular events we run,” said Deeside Activity Park owner Ken Howie.
“Having this amount of vehicles driving round our course plays havoc with the ground, but we have so many guests requesting a repeat event every year that it’s worth running it year after year.”
Staff at Deeside Activity Park are also looking forward to seeing if any guest is capable of beating last year’s “Riding Big Bertha” competition winner. Big Bertha is the park’s giant vehicle seesaw, and every year, visitors vie to stay balanced atop her the longest. Jim Lamb currently holds the record at one-and-a-half minutes.
