BANFF and Buchan Arts Forum is to adopt a new logo designed by a north-east pupil.

The forum held a competition, open to all Aberdeenshire secondary school pupils over 12, to produce a logo that reflects the organisation’s aims.

Scott Sandison, of Blantyre Crescent, Fraserburgh, scooped the £100 prize.

The Fraserburgh Academy pupil impressed the judges with his “innovative” design.

Forum chairwoman Helen Harrison said: “Scott’s design can be used on posters and any other form of advertising. It’s great.

“The quality and quantity of participants was exceptional. We had a lot of entries but Scott’s just topped it.”

Banff and Buchan Arts Forum, which is a voluntary organisation based at Banff, works with Aberdeenshire Council to promote artists in the north-east. For information on the organisation, and grants available to local art projects, visit www.bbaf-arts. org.uk
