Flak flying from furious fans

IF IT WASN’T for the fact that football players and managers were so well rewarded, you would almost feel sorry for the flak they have to take from supporters, even their own.

The relationship between managers and their fans is often strained as a result.

It was Mark McGhee’s turn to cry “foul” over some unpleasant chants from Dons fans, directed at their own players, during Aberdeen’s cup draw against Raith Rovers at the weekend. Yes, fans can be so fickle and cruel. They also have long memories, so woe betide Mr McGhee and his lads if they foul up in the replay.
