SCOTTISH Opera’s tour of the country arrived in the north-east yesterday.
The company took to the stage at Midmar Village Hall last night as part of its annual Opera Highlights tour.
The show – now in its 15th year – features well-known songs from operas, including La Boheme, Don Giovanni and Romeo and Juliette.
This year’s company includes sopranos Miranda Sinani and Louise Collett, tenor Adrian Ward and baritone Robert Tucker.
Scottish Opera’s general director Alex Reedijk said: “This is a great chance to see some fantastic young singers performing a selection of the world’s most beautiful music right on your doorstep.
“There’s a blend of tunes people will already know and ones we hope they’ll be delighted to discover.”
The show will travel to Carrbridge Village Hall tomorrow and Universal Hall, Findhorn, on Saturday.
The opera tour then moves on to Torridon Community Hall on Tuesday, Ardross Community Hall on the Thursday, Strathy village hall next Saturday and Gairloch Community Hall on Tuesday, February 23. On February 25, the show will travel to Skye, Benbecula on the 27th and Barra on March 2, reaching Killin on March 6.
