Darts ace Georgina Anderson

Age no obstacle for 89-year-old grannie

Published: 10/03/2010

STEP aside world darts champ Phil “The Power” Taylor and make way for grannie power, in the shape of Aberdeen darts ace Georgina Anderson, who is still throwing the arrows at 89.

Georgina has just helped her pub team to promotion in their league, but now they are fighting for survival. She took up darts only five years ago, but she finds the quick-thinking mental arithmetic keeps her mind active.

She only goes to show that you should never write anyone off because of their age. Georgina will soon be 90, so she just needs a bullseye and double-top.
