Police searching for a missing mother-of-three will stage a reconstruction of her last known movements tonight.
Yesterday, detectives were still questioning a man who was seen dancing with Mary McLaren in a Dundee club shortly before she vanished.
And officers with sniffer dogs searched around the King Street area of the city were she was last seen nearly a fortnight ago.
Tayside Police officers dressed in clothes similar to those worn by Mrs McLaren, her sister Michelle Rodger and the man being quizzed will take part in a re-enactment of the events of Wednesday, February 24, and the early hours of the following morning.
The filmed reconstruction will show the two women leaving the Gauger Bar in Dundee’s Seagate and making their way to Fat Sam’s club in South Ward Road.
It will then focus on Mrs McLaren’s movements after she left the club and was seen walking in North Lindsay Street, Bell Street, Irvine Square, into Wishart Place and East Marketgait, near the junction with King Street.
Detective Chief Inspector Shaun McKillop, who is leading the inquiry, said: “We will be filming in various areas across the city centre in order to produce a visual account of Mary’s movements on the night of Wednesday, February 24, and the early hours of Thursday, February 25.
“Not only will this provide us with an essential briefing tool for officers working on the inquiry, more importantly we hope that by showing the reconstruction publicly it will trigger something in somebody’s memory and help us find Mary.”
The man being questioned is believed to be from outwith the Dundee area.
It is understood he was arrested by Strathclyde Police in connection with an alleged theft and then remanded in custody when he appeared in court on Monday.
On Friday, police released a picture of him dancing with Mrs McLaren in Fat Sam’s.
Her mother, Margaret McIntosh, said last week she fears that she has been abducted.
Specialist officers with sniffer dogs searched gardens and buildings in the King Street area yesterday looking for any evidence of Mrs McLaren having been there.
DCI McKillop said he hoped locals would assist the police by checking their own properties.
He added: “We need to know if anyone has found any items of clothing or possessions belonging to Mary.
“While our officers will be carrying out thorough searches in the area I would ask local businesses and homeowners in the King Street area to assist us by checking outhouses, sheds, lock-ups, bin recesses or any other property that belongs to them.
“The level of resources and the scale of this investigation reflects our concern for Mary.”
Mrs McLaren, of Dundee's Rowantree Crescent, became separated from her sister outside Fat Sam’s after an argument with the man she had been dancing with.
She is described as 5ft 2in, of slim build, with long, brown hair and blue eyes. She walks with a limp.
When she disappeared she was wearing a black and white leopard print dress, black leggings, a white duffel coat and flat, black shoes.
She was carrying a small black handbag and a pink inflatable adult toy.
Police have urged anyone who has seen Mrs McLaren since 2.30am on Thursday, February 25, to telephone them on 0300 111 2222.
