Old Rover Lennon knows how to beat Dundee

FORMER Raith Rovers favourite Danny Lennon shone the last time the Fifers knocked Dundee out of the Scottish Cup and has tipped John McGlynn’s class of 2010 to do the same.
Lennon put Raith ahead in their Uefa Cup match against Bayern Munich in 1995 and also featured in their domestic cup run that season as they won 2-1 at Dens Park.
Lennon has carved out an impressive reputation as manager at Cowdenbeath and still keeps a close eye on what’s happening at Stark’s Park. He is full of admiration for what McGlynn has achieved.
Rovers will go into Saturday’s quarter-final as underdogs against the First Division leaders. But Rovers beat SPL side Aberdeen in the last round and Lennon believes they are capable of winning through to the semi-finals.
He said: “John McGlynn has done a magnificent job at Raith Rovers. I have kept an eye on how they have been doing and to go to Aberdeen and win the cup replay was something else. The tie at Dundee will be a big bonus for them but who would write them off?
“I know from my time there when the supporters have a team on a decent run they rally around. They will turn out in good numbers at Dens Park and it should be a great game.”
