Andy Barrowman fell so far out of the first-team picture at Caley Thistle he could not even make the substitutes bench under manager Terry Butcher.
But since rejoining Ross County at the end of the January transfer window the 25-year-old is a player transformed, scoring two goals in four First Division appearances with the Dingwall club.
Victoria Park manager Derek Adams could give the Wishaw-born attacker the responsibility of leading the County forward line against Hibs in today’s Scottish Cup quarter-final at Easter Road.
Barrowman, who scored 29 goals for the Staggies in his first spell with the club two seasons ago, is understandably pleased with the turnaround in his fortunes. He said: “It is good to get a goal early when you go to a new club, although it is not really a new club in a way.
“It is still early but I am delighted with the start I have made. There are a lot of familiar faces and I feel as though I have settled in and got to know the players I did know pretty well.
“I am just enjoying it every day in training and I can’t wait for the next game to come around.
“I knew I was not going to be involved at Caley Thistle. There is nothing worse than training all week and knowing you are not going to even get stripped to play.”
Barrowman is eager to be involved at Easter Road.
He said: “Hopefully, I can be involved in some capacity and we can do down there and do ourselves justice.
“I don’t think any of the players will be fazed by going there. We all have ambitions to play at SPL level and to play at places like Easter Road very week.
“We will not go there with any fears, we will look to go there to play our normal game and I am sure we will give Hibs a tough test.”
