ANDY Robinson wants his Scotland rugby squad to use national pride to full advantage against ancient foes England in today’s Calcutta Cup contest at Murrayfield.

The head coach has no problems with his players stirring up anti-English sentiment if it drives the team to victory in the six nations championship match.

While proud of his English heritage, Robinson, 45, is determined to do whatever it takes to land an elusive first championship victory.

Robinson said: “If they have that feeling then that’s great.

“There are a number of emotional drivers going into games.

“It’s important that we use every aspect.

“I believe there’s not a lot I have to say to them.

“The crowd getting behind the team before the five-o’clock kick-off and throughout the game will give the team a huge lift.

“We need every ounce tomorrow to beat a very good England side. They’ve won two games and could have won that third game.

“They’re already talking, saying they can do something special.

“We’ve got to be able to stand toe-to-toe with England.”
