inventor wins award

Olympians could learn from fit fish

Published: 13/03/2010

An inventor has won a prestigious Scottish award for coming up with a way of making fish swim faster. You might wonder why we don’t just let the fish swim about in circles to their heart’s content without making them get a move on.

But it does have major commercial possibilities in improving growth and meat content in farmed fish if they are encouraged to swim about more, instead of lazing about all day.

Now, all they have to do is find a way of doing the same with our swimmers at the Olympics so that we don’t have to fish about for medals anymore.
