A CONVICTED murderer ripped a basin and toilet pan from his prison cell during a two-day wrecking spree.
Kevin Leslie, who killed Kemnay dad Dean Jamieson in an attack near Aberdeen, admitted shouting, swearing and threatening staff at Craiginches Prison when he appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
The 27-year-old damaged light fittings and the spy hole on his cell door.
He further admitted being in possession of two offensive weapons at the jail – a pillowcase and a sock with weighted items in them.
The offences took place on December 9 and December 10, 2008.
Leslie was serving a 20-year sentence, having been convicted of murdering Mr Jamieson in 2006.
Colin Cowie was also found guilty of murder while co-accused Shaun Paton was convicted of culpable homicide.
The trial heard Mr Jamieson, 30, was taken to Elrick Hill on the outskirts of Aberdeen, where he was attacked, robbed and stripped. He was then left, semi-naked, to die in the freezing cold.
Three other prisoners appeared alongside Leslie in the dock at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
Richard Murison, 29, Charles Sim, 27, and Andrew Wallace, 25, denied having shouted, sworn, acted aggressively and threatened prison staff on December 9 and 10, 2008.
The trio, who were prisoners there at the time, also denied maliciously damaging their cells and smearing substances, including human faeces, on the walls.
Wallace, described as a prisoner at Perth, also denied wilfully setting fire to pieces of paper and an item of clothing, causing damage to paintwork in his cell on December 10.
He also denied assaulting staff member William Milne by spraying him with urine. Sim, described as a prisoner at Dumfries, further denied carrying a plastic handle with two blades fixed to it.
The case was continued.
