CRAIG Campbell scored for Nairn with just four minutes left to sink title-chasing Huntly at Station Park.

Campbell and Martin Macdonald returned to the home starting 11, with Tony Low and Stephen Skinner missing. Huntly made four changes from Saturday with Martin Skinner, Neil Reid, Andrzej-Slawomir Kleczkowski and Stuart Soane back in.

The opening exchanges saw both sides testing the keeper early and the visitors looked sharp in the opening 20 minutes. David Booth had a low shot held by Callum Donaldson early on while the Nairn keeper did well on two occasions to deny Myles Brownhill.

Midway through the half and the home side started to take control with Robbie Duncanson sending a wide header wide of the post. Three minutes later, Shaun Kerr played the ball in for Campbell down the right. He cut inside drilling wide of Neil Hastie but Alan Redford made a great last-ditch block to deny an opener.

As the first half drew to a close it was Booth again who this time fired wide off a Ross McKenzie set-up.

McKenzie was denied by the woodwork early on in the second half when he rattled a shot off a post. The Huntly winger came close again with 11 minutes to go when his shot skimmed over Donaldson’s crossbar.

Kleczkowski found the side netting from a Russell Guild pass but the flag was already up for offside against the pole. Provider Guild also wasted a good chance himself, heading over minutes later.

With four minutes remaining, Mark Gray missed the ball as Campbell ran on to take advantage of the lapse and slot past Neil Hastie to grab the win.
