WICK Academy defeated Clach last night with a superb performance at Harmsworth Park.

The hosts opened the scoring after a quarter of an hour when Sam Mackay rifled a volley into the net from 16 yards.

It took Wick just seven minutes to double their lead when Richard MacAdie lofted the ball over Clach goalkeeper Murray Kinnaird.

The visitors halved the deficit six minutes after the restart when Gordon Morrison shot home a free kick from 22 yards out.

Wick restored their two-goal lead less than 60 seconds later when Allan’s pass was knocked home by MacAdie at the back post.

Wick added number four on 63 minutes through Allan after a corner. It was five for the on 79 minutes when substitute Stevie Cunningham shrugged off his marker to advance on goal and place home a low shot.

Clach netted a goal late on as Colin Williamson headed home from five yards out.
