FORMARTINE United went nap against Strathspey Thistle at North Lodge in the battle of two of the Highland League’s newest members.
Formartine were in front after just five minutes when Barry Somers headed the ball down from a corner for Richie Singer to score from a neat volley.
It was two just six minutes later when Stuart McKay’s pin-point cross was headed home by Robert Maitland at the back post.
Formartine added a third on 58 minutes when prolific midfielder Somers found the net before Scott Morrison added goal number four six minutes from time.
There was still enough time on the clock to pile on the misery for Thistle as Kenny Coull marked his return to the side with a goal on 88 minutes.
