ROTHES missed the chance to climb off the foot of the Highland League table when they were dumped at home by ever-improving Brora Rangers.

The Speysiders threatened 20 minutes in when Scott Robison laid the ball off to Kris Duncan but he shot inches over from 18 yards.

Brora opened the scoring on 41 minutes when John Cameron’s run sprung the Rothes offside trap and placed a low shot into the right-hand corner of the net.

It took just a minute of the second half for Brora to double their lead when Rothes goalkeeper Ricky Horne parried the ball to Daniel Mackay and he rifled home.

The visitors rounded off their win in the final minute when Ross Sutter’s cross was tapped home by the unmarked Liam Baxter at the back post.
