Fraserburgh manager Charlie Duncan admits he does not know what to expect when his side takes on Clach in the second round of the Highland League Cup at Bellslea Park today.
The Broch won 3-1 when the teams met at Grant Street Park in the Highland League last December but Duncan will not underestimate the Inverness club, which is in administration. He said: “Clach are a good side and you never know what you are getting as they are in a bit of trouble just now.
“Sometimes they have an excellent team and at other times they don’t, it is a bit unexpected really.
“Clach have good players but you don’t know who is going to play from week to week.
“They have been inconsistent but we have played them this season already and we beat them in Inverness, it was very close.
“There was nothing in it and we expect a hard game.
“Hopefully we can win 1-0 or on penalties at the end.”
Lilywhites manager Iain Polworth is wary of facing a Fraserburgh team which sits third in the Highland League.
He said: “It will be a very difficult game.
“They are flying high at the top of the league.
“Charlie has them producing good football again and it will be a big ask for us.
“Unfortunately we will be missing a few players which makes the task even greater.
“We have to go there and give it our best shot.
“Every game is important for us just now. It is a learning curve for a lot of players as it is their first year in Highland League football.
“They have to learn as they go on and progress from last year.”
Blair Lawrie and Adam Naismith are unavailable due to work commitments, Mark Kennedy, Steven Macdonald, Colin Williamson, Neil Gibb, Gordon Mackenzie and Scott Davidson are all injured.
