Taxi driver charged with raping girl

POLICE launched a rape investigation over claims a schoolgirl was attacked in a taxi, the Evening Express can reveal this afternoon.

Police officers arrested and charged taxi driver William McBain, 67, in connection with the alleged late-night sex attack on the B993 Kemnay to Port Elphinstone road, near Inverurie.

The alleged attack on the 15-year-old was said to have taken place inside McBain’s taxi on March 27.

A Grampian Police spokesman today said: “Following our inquiries a 67-year-old man was reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with the incident.”
