INDUSTRIAL cleaning and waste-management firm Sureclean has invested £1.5million in new jetting equipment destined for operations in Norway.

The additional units are to be used for a range of decontamination, descaling, surface preparation, cold cutting and high-pressure pumping operations both onshore and offshore. The equipment is certified for hazardous area use in all sectors of the North Sea including Norway and the UK.

Graham McLellan, commercial director of Alness-based Sureclean, said: “Investing in new technology is very important to the success of the business. Our strategy has always been based on a brain over brawn approach and I am confident that we now have the strongest fleet of high-pressure jetting units in the North Sea.”

The Norwegian market has been successful for Sureclean, generating more than £1.2million – almost 10% of the firm’s turnover – since it opened in Stavanger in April, 2009.

Sureclean specialises in high-pressure water jetting, vacuum-transfer and pumping solutions and asbestos management and removal.

It employs more than 100 staff at five locations in the UK and Norway including two sites in the Aberdeen area at Blackdog and Whitecairns, two bases at Alness on the Cromarty Firth and in Stavanger.
