MORE than 200 youngsters from Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire took part in a dazzling display of creative dance.
Charity dance show Survival II was held at the Thainstone Centre in Inverurie to raise money for community groups.
And the Inverurie dance show Survival II, which pulled in an audience of more than 700 people, was deemed a great success.
Performers attended Survival II from all parts of Aberdeenshire and included groups from Kemnay, Inverurie, Alford, Portsoy, Banff, Turriff, Stonehaven, Portlethen and Banchory, as well as Aberdeen.
And performance styles at Survival II in Inverurie included hip-hop dancing, rapping, singing, skipping, ballet and jazz.
Organiser and former Evening Express Aberdeen Champion’s nominee MC Ajet said: “We are delighted that the dance concert went down really well and we are getting great feedback about it.
“More importantly we are very proud of the young people and children.
“Over the past few years, months and weeks we have watched them develop in confidence and positive attitudes.
“This was to show them that they can achieve whatever they put their minds to. We must also add that this concert was for young people by young people.”
Last year’s Survival dance concert saw groups raising around £2,000 for the Aberdeen Maternity Hospital neo-natal intensive care unit.
This year Survival II organisers will reinvest the funds raised back into the groups themselves.
