WITH Bon Accord poised to secure the Grade 1 title for a further season, much of the attention in the penultimate round of fixtures will focus on other matches for promotion and relegation.
At the foot of Grade 1 bottom side Queens Cross entertains Inverurie at Harlaw, in a game which both will hope to win to avoid relegation to Division 2 next year. The other sides at risk, Grammar FPs and Kintore meanwhile face the daunting task of taking on Cults and Bon Accord respectively.
At the top of Grade 2 there will be a key encounter at Countesswells, as Gordonians take on league leaders St Ronald. Cults-Artisans play Caledonian and Crathie and Crescent face testing games against Methlick and Fraserbugh.
With 2nd Queens Cross's fixtures now void, the leaders of Grade 3, 2nd St Ronald, enjoy a free day.
Academy take on second-placed Gordonians at Counteswells, while 2nd Kintore will hope to pick up points at home to 2nd Grammar. Victory for Dunecht at Methlick could leave the Lairds and Castle Park sides contesting the remaining relegation spot.
Bon Accord take on Stonehaven on Sunday in a rearranged fixture at the Links, while at Inverurie Cults-Artisans and Gordonians will meet in the final of the Bon Accord Cup. Queens Cross will take on Knightriders in the third of the quarter-finals of this year's Turriff Cup.
