THE Press and Journal Arena at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre was transformed for Saturday’s event.
A Bristow helicopter, luxury cars and glittering Jamieson & Carry jewels decked one end of the venue.
The helicopter certainly proved popular with the guests, many of whom sat on board and had their photograph taken.
At the other end of the hall, dozens of beautifully-decorated white tables surrounded the dance floor, set in front of a stage with a wall of twinkling lights.
The entertainment got under way with a 15 minute performance by Turriff and District Pipe Band.
Organiser George Walker welcomed guests and made special thanks to the many sponsors, as well as entertaining the crowd with his jokes.
First on stage was Ellon singer Kim Anderson, followed by Sandi Thom who cruised on to the dance floor on the back of a motorcycle.
Macduff-born Miss Thom got the crowd clapping along with her performances of her biggest hit I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker, and Runaway Train, which is from her newest album Merchants and Thieves.
But it was the Magic of Motown show which really got everyone buzzing.
The talented group wowed the crowd with the music of the Jackson 5, the Temptations, the Four Tops and many more.
Guests all agreed it had been a successful night.
Louise Wood, of Oil & Gas UK, said it was a “fantastic evening celebrating the successes of the energy industries”.
Donna Allan, of Impact Imaging, said: “It was a brilliant night with a wonderful ambience, and Motown Magic was fantastic.”
Melanie Jaffrey, of INP Signs, said she “loved it”, while Mike Imlach, of Bristow, said it was “tremendous”.
