new tea and coffee trolleys

Pricey bringers of beverages

Published: 03/09/2010

SPLASHING out £75,000 on a cup of tea seems like something a daft multimillionaire might do, but NHS Grampian reckons it’s money well spent.

That is how much it is planning to spend on a fleet of new tea and coffee trolleys for its hospital wards. It’s not exactly what the doctor ordered, but the Ultra Karts, as they are known, also keep toast warm and cereals fresh as they go about their rounds – important if you are a patient. However, at that price, some patients might feel these karts should be adapted to offer free rides as well, to relieve the boredom.
