Sunnybank, one of the region’s most prestigious junior clubs, is out of football just 14 months after winning a glorious treble and 10 months after a historic run to the third round of the Scottish Cup.
The Aberdeen club should be celebrating its 75th anniversary, but instead has withdrawn from the north junior league for 12 months after a season of turmoil.
The former Scottish Junior Cup winners now face an uncertain future and a daunting task to climb from the bottom rung of the game.
