Michelin-star chef: ‘I’m bankrupt with nothing left’
A CHEF who blamed a baronet when his hotel business collapsed insisted last night he had no choice but to disappear – and is now bankrupt.
Ian Simpson vanished after telling the Press and Journal he would be closing the Glenkindie Arms Hotel, near Alford, because of falling guest and diner numbers.
Notices left at the deserted property claimed that “as a direct result” of Sir James Forbes of Newe “avoiding” paying £2,500 for a silver wedding anniversary party, the business had stopped trading.
