Whisky company eyes Easter Ross expansion

Scotch whisky firm Whyte and Mackay (W&M) confirmed yesterday it was considering investing in two of its distilleries.
It is understood one of the sites earmarked for expansion is the distiller’s Invergordon plant in Easter Ross.
A spokesman for the company, which is owned by Indian drinks giant United Beverages and produces single malts including Dalmore and Jura, said: “We are looking at proposals to expand two of our distilleries but these proposals are at a very early stage.”
