Scott wants chance to meet his hero

Ewan Scott was just six years-old when he watched in awe as Open champion Paul Lawrie launched the St Andrews Links Junior Golf Association at the Home of Golf.

A decade later the St Andrews youngster is hoping his idol will be presenting him the Scottish boys’ championship trophy.

Scott will face Craig Howie, from Peebles, in today’s final at Murcar Links, and is bidding to become the first boys’ champion from St Andrews since Lachlan Carver at North Berwick in 1960.
