Director accused of escaping justice walks free

A BUSINESSMAN was yesterday cleared of trying to escape a drink-drive charge – by driving off in his Mercedes coupe after being stopped by police.
Brian Macleay went on trial at Dornoch Sheriff Court where he was accused of driving while unfit and trying to pervert the course of justice.
But after two hours of evidence, Sheriff David Sutherland accepted a defence plea that there was no case to answer.
