Butcher bid to hold Hayes

Caley Thistle manager Terry Butcher is ready to hand winger Jonny Hayes a new two-year contract in an attempt to ward off interest from other SPL clubs.

Aberdeen manager Craig Brown has Hayes on his wanted list, as do St Johnstone and Hibs, but Butcher remains hopeful the Irishman will stay in the Highland capital.
